They won’t recognize the new me.
But they know the old me well—the me she harmed, and the me he loved.

He thinks she’s the one. But I’m going to show him he’s wrong.
I thought it was over. But now I have a chance.
A very dear friend of mine told me about this book back when it first came out. Due to everything that’s been going on, I didn’t check it out 100% until Friday, and for $0.99 on Amazon (free to read with Kindle Unlimited), I snatched it up and devoured it in less than 12 hours. It wouldn’t have taken that long, but mommy and wife duties call. I feel like I just hit the jackpot. This is Lauren Campbell’s first novel, and she came out of the gates with an amazing book that instantly made it’s way to my favorites shelf.
I adored Laurne’s writting style. It flows perfectly, the characters are well developed, it is written in first person point of view, and I honestly believe that her skill is something that will continue on in the next books of this series. Apparently, first person point of view is growing on me, because lately a few books I have read are told in this manner and they’ve all kept me intrigued.
From the very beginning of this book, all the way until the end, I found myself wonder about Ivy. Is she sane in her actions or is she a little mentally unstable? She’s certainly been through enough that if she had gotten tipped over the edge, I could understand. However, I still don’t really know the answer to that. I do know that she’s spent time formulating a plan and she bound and determined to make it work. It’s rather inspiring really. I wish I could be that dedicated in all that I do. I found myself rooting for Ivy through out the entire book, I laughed with her – I cried with her. As soon as book two comes out, I’ll be devouring that one as well.
I recommend this book for anyone really, so long as they are old enough to handle the sexual scenes in the book (18+), anyone who enjoys tales of revenge, anyone who enjoys romanace, womens fiction, general ficton, and anyone who enjoys books that are a little on the dark side. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing all the way until the end – and even you are wondering and attempting to guess what will unfold in the second book.
