As many of you know, we went from having one kid to two December 2017. We tried reading numerous books to Baby Girl to make her understand what was coming, but none of them really caught her attention. I really wish we would have had this one when preparing Baby Girl for Baby Boy’s arrival. We read it as a family the other day and here are our thoughts.
The illustrations are super adorable and for some reason remind me a lot of watercolor We found the story line to be cute and realistic. It starts out with Mommy and Daddy Dragon surprising Little Dragon with the egg that will soon hatch into a baby brother or sister. Little Dragon tries to come to terms with the fact he will not be an only kid soon. When the egg finally hatches it is not one, but two Baby Dragons! Little Dragon decides it may not be too bad to have baby siblings around to share his room with – after-all, they are super cute!
My daughter absolutely loved this story and unlike others with similar messages – the illustrations of this book held her attention. She kept saying “aww” and point to the pictures to talk about them. This is a book we will be adding to our collection when it comes out!
