So here we are, in 2020. Not just 2020, but February of 2020 and I feel kind of odd that time has just flown by! So here is a brief summary of my year so far.
In January, I read two books. The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter and The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen. I know – completely different types of books, opposites in some ways, similar in others. However, both were amazing (and both are kind of my favorite authors – they are both in the top five… I have issues placing them in any particular order, but I do have a top five). I will try to get something up about both of those soon. I got back into my camera more than I have been and I am working on doing some free photo shoots on the side – in whatever little free time I may actually have. I spent the first half of the month avoiding people, hello flu season! Then I took my youngest to his yearly wellness check and we picked up one heck of a stomach bug. We spent the end of January sicker than dogs and we are still on the mend. Fingers crossed we can get it in check and that the oldest does not catch it – she has not yet. I also discovered this amazing body soak by Village Naturals Therapy called Chronic Pain and Fatigue Body Soak. It is absolutely amazing and it helped a ton with my back pain. I am in desperate need of some more, and if you suffer from any sort of chronic pain – I recommend trying it.
Two days into February and I am planning out what to do for my husband’s birthday and Valentines day. I have no idea what I want to do for either to be honest, but what little I do already have planned out for his birthday has to remain hush hush until the day actually passes. He’s been pretty adamant that we are not doing anything, but that just is not how I do things.
I am currently reading Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky and Sick Puppy by Carl Hiassen. The first is an eBook on hold from the library and the second is one of the books that I got from a major book haul in January that I plan on trying to knock out over the course of the year. I am going to do something new this year and most of the books that I read and post to the blog will be given away to someone who is interested in reading it. These books were given to me and I want to pass them on to other people so that enjoyment that they bring me can continue on to someone else. Every time I post a review on one, I will have information on the giveaway. Unfortunately I cannot afford to ship them out to everyone, so the winner MUST pay shipping to receive the book. The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen will be added to my current Sarah Dessen collection and The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter has already been claimed by someone on Instagram because I already have that hardback edition autographed, I just couldn’t bring myself to risk damaging the autographed copy.
